La Ganesan, the Governor of Nagaland, has passed away at the age of 80. He had been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Apollo Hospitals located on Greams Road in Chennai for the last week.
His death occurred at approximately 6:23 PM today at the Apollo Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
As reported by the hospital, Ganesan was admitted following a head injury sustained from a fall at his home in T. Nagar on August 8, where he was discovered unconscious. Despite receiving medical attention, his condition did not show signs of improvement.

A Legacy of Service
Ganesan was a seasoned politician who held various significant positions within the Bharatiya Janata Party throughout his extensive career, including the role of Tamil Nadu president. Known for his organizational skills, strong grassroots connections, and steadfast loyalty, he was appointed as the Governor of Nagaland in February 2023. Prior to this, he served as the Governor of Manipur and briefly took on additional responsibilities for West Bengal.
